Hi, I am Anna, I am a Registered Social Worker and graduate from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Masters of Social Work program. I also hold a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph. I am passionate about helping people through the challenges that they may face in life. I ensure my clients know that they are the expert on their own lives, and I use a client centered and holistic approach in my work. I have experience in various settings, including, Interior Health, mental health organizations and MCFD. I work with both teen and adult populations. My main area of focus includes individuals with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and more.
I always focus on taking a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to provide a safe and trustworthy environment with clients. I pull from a number of modalities, some of which are, cognitive behavioural therapy, strengths-based perspective and crisis intervention. I also use a bio psychosocial approach to ensure I am capturing a holistic image of my clients. In addition, I am actively building on my professional development throughout my career, with the hopes to incorporate Animal Assisted Therapy in the future.
When I am not working, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking and camping, baking, and cuddling with my two cats Salem and Samantha. I focus on working on my own self care skills and empower clients to do the same.
